The Intermunicipal Regional Energy Coordinator (IREC) program is hosted by the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission (TRORC) and was formed in 2020. It is a collaboration among seven towns designed to lessen overall energy use, lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and move to renewable generation of electricity. Bradford joined the IREC program in July of 2021. The program is guided by an IREC Steering Committee, made up of one representative from each of the seven towns. Nancy Jones, also a member of the Bradford Energy Committee, is Bradford’s representative. The Bradford Energy Committee (BEC) also provides guidance and support for the IREC work.
Geoff Martin was Bradford’s Intermunicipal Regional Energy Coordinator at TRORC from July 2021 to December 2022. His monthly reports to Bradford are listed below. As of February 2023, Bradford’s new Intermunicipal Regional Energy Coordinator is Jeff Grout.
